5 Months

It is so hard to believe that my baby boy is 5 Months old! He is growing so fast and right before my eyes!

This month we have tried many NEW things!

WE have...

*Gone to the Zoo for the first time
*Tried rice cereal
*Tried bananas...yes, I let MY son try bananas.
*Tried applesauce.
*Tried pears.
*Taken our first school class picture.
*Moved up to size 3 diapers.
*We are now wearing mainly 6 month clothing. Although, I still try to let him wear some of his cute 3-6 month clothes.
*Started to try to hold our own bottle.
*ROLLED OVER!!!! Both ways now!

And the Other One Says....

ROLL OVER!!!

Yes, that's right! We are rolling over! This morning (about 3:30) I woke up to a little fussing by Owen. When I grabbed the video monitor I noticed that Owen had rolled over in his sleep! I quickly hit Matt (a love tap of course) to tell him that Owen had ROLLED OVER in his sleep. I have been afraid that Owen would do it at day care and that we would miss him rolling over for the first time. Well, just like his birth, Owen does things on his own time. Or should I say...when he would like things to happen!

I did ask this morning if Owen had rolled over at day care. Arlene (Owen's teacher) pondered it for a moment, but told me that 'No, he hasn't done that yet.' I have to say I was relived. I wanted him to do it with us first and he has...we were just asleep. In fact, he did it twice last night. This morning when I woke him up he was belly side down and fast asleep.

So, today when Matt and I were home together after long days at work and daycare, we took a try at rolling over. AND he did it for us!

Enjoy the video! I love every milestone that we are hitting. It is so exciting to see Owen try new things!

The Zoo and Cereal

Today Matt and I decided to have an adventurous Sunday. We drove into Houston planning on going to the park. Well, the park we chose to go to also had the Houston Zoo. Now, we know that Owen is a little young to really enjoy the zoo, but we went anyways!

As soon as we walked into the zoo Owen quickly woke up from his nap. He didn't shut his eyes again until the moment we walked out of the zoo. We saw the tigers, lions, elephants, giraffes, and the fish. Owen fell in love with the fish! He would just stare and watch as the swam around in the water. Here are a few pictures of our day!

Now for part two of our day...

Owen has been waking up in the middle of the night lately because he has been so hungry. So, Matt and I have been trying to decide if we should give him cereal a little early to see if it will tie him over till the morning. We will see if it works! Although, I am not real sure how much of the cereal actually went into his mouth!

(we didn't get his bib on...he started to scream the moment we put it on, so we went without it!)

Everything you need for your first try at cereal!
I'll try it myself, thank you.

4 Months

It is hard to believe that Owen is already 4 months old! It has gone by so quickly!
Here is a snapshot of what we have done the last 2 months!
(sorry, I missed the 3 month post! We were getting into the groove of getting back to work and school!)
  • Owen has started to laugh and smile constantly!
  • Owen is cutting 2 teeth. That's right we are teething.
  • Owen was sleeping through the night, but with those teeth coming in we are waking up at least once a night.
  • Owen is soooo close to rolling over! It could happen any day!
  • Owen really is starting to have conversations with Matt and I. Too bad we don't know what he is saying! He also has such an expressive face when he talks!
  • He is starting to lose his baby hair, but trust me, he still has a lot!

Tiger Love

Owen and the Tiger Mascot

Owen has really no choice in loving the Tigers, but luckily he is totally in love with tigers. It is really funny to watch him whenever he sees a tiger (stuffed or the Tiger mascot). He just laughs and talks to them constantly.

This afternoon we had some fun with our stuffed tiger! Enjoy watching him laugh! I know Matt and I did!

Tales from the Crib

Well, we did it. We put Owen in his crib last night. It was a hard night for his momma to let go of his tiny little bassinet and put him in his big bed.

As soon as Owen hit the sheets, he stretched out and enjoyed all of the extra room. He did well in his crib last night and slept until 6:30 am! I am hoping for a repeat tonight!
