If you know me at all you know that I love a good pair of heels. I like them tall and in funky styles! I have giraffe printed heels, red heels, snake skin black heels…you name it I have them or want them desperately! I always look for the perfect outfit to match the shoes!
I will wear heels to go to a high school football game, out to dinner, or just out and about. Until now. Last Friday we had the annual KBBC Rose Banquet. I was already having a hard time finding a dress to cover the baby bump that is quickly growing. I am now having to change my shoes before the outfit theory. It’s find the outfit to fit the belly and then the shoes. Now to find shoes to match the dress…
I put on what I thought was my most comfortable pair of heels to go with the black dress that I selected from my closet. So, I grabbed my wedding shoes. Now, keep in mind that they are not your “typical” wedding shoes. I had to stick with the theme of the wedding and I didn’t want a pair of shoes that were your “ordinary” white wedding shoes. So it was black and ivory heels. Perfect. They were so comfortable on the wedding day. My feet didn’t hurt a bit. I wore those suckers all day long and never had a problem and I didn’t even break them in! (Although, it was very tempting to wear them before the wedding.)
So off to the banquet I went. Pictures started at 6:00 so that meant I needed to be at the location at 5:30. (I had to make sure everything was ready to go.) Now, let me tell you it was at 5:31 that my feet started to hurt and it was only the beginning of the banquet. How I made it through clean up until 10:30 that night…who knows. But, I was in some major pain. Swollen feet and blisters. Not fun!
Will I keep wearing them during the upcoming football season? Who knows? But, I am thinking I might become a cute flats girl for the time being. I just can’t imagine myself walking down the hills at the football stadium with a big belly and high heels. But, then again…it is always Beauty before Pain!

You will quickly learn that while pregnant, it will be comfort before beauty. You will find yourself paying more attention to your hair, nails, etc. than your shoes! I am glad to hear that the belly is growing! I can't wait to find out if it is a boy or girl.
ReplyDeleteI love this post, although knowing you, you will keep wearing the heels because comfort has NEVER been top priority! Can't wait to see the growing belly!
