Owen and Plie

Ever since we brought Owen home, Plie has been completely enamoured with Owen. She is constantly looking for where he is and always giving him "kisses" or should I say licking him to death.

I can't wait to see how much fun they will have together in the future! I am sure that Owen will be crawling all over her in no time!

First Day at School

Dressed and ready for his first day.

Well, today Owen and I survived our first day at school. I dropped Owen off at Tigerland at 6:45 this morning and he was in the best mood! He laughed and smiled as I handed him to his teacher. I quickly asked any last questions and went on my way. (I didn't want to cry in front of anyone! I do have to say that I have made it through the day without any tears. It wasn't easy. My throat did start to get really tight and the eyes did water, but I made it.)

At my school, I was greeted by teenage girls with hugs, "welcome back!", and "we missed you...did you miss us?". I have to say it is nice to be missed!

After school and after practice I went to pick up my sweet boy. I found him in the swing (in a new set of clothes...what's a first day of school with out a blow out diaper?) laughing, smiling and having a good time. The teachers told me that he was the cutest and that his smile and hair has won their hearts!

We then went on to get ready for our first lady tigers Basketball game. It was a close game going into overtime, but sadly we lost.

AND now we are both pooped and I am ready for bed! So here's to a great first day and hopefully a great second day!

So tonight I have to eat my words. Bama won. That means only one thing....Owen in OU gear and me in the jersey. There is no nice way to say it...THIS SUCKS! I'm sorry daddy...but Matt made me do it!

The Bet

So, Matt and I have made a little wager on tomorrows game. If Alabama wins, I have to dress Owen in OU gear and have him make the horns down sign with his hands and we will have to take a picture together. If (when) UT wins, Matt will have to dress Owen in UT gear and have him make the horns sign with his hands and take a picture together.

So...look forward to seeing Matt and Owen's picture tomorrow after the game. I think I might have to find a shirt for Matt to wear in the picture!!!

UT vs OU

I know it is a little early for this post, but with all of the UT and OU clothing Owen is getting I had to post some pictures.

Backstory: Matt is an OU fan. I'm a UT fan. We have had many conversations over which team is better. AND in the 5 years that Matt and I have been together UT has won all but 1 game between the rivalry. We even had a little UT/OU showdown at our wedding...

I am sure Owen will know which team to choose in the end...UT!!!

Two Months

It is hard to believe that just a short two months ago Owen was born. It is amazing how quickly he has stolen our hearts and we have wrapped our lives in him. It has been such a joy to watch the new things that he does everyday.

This month we have:

• gone to his first (of many) Katy Tiger Football Game
• celebrated our first Christmas as a family
• made our first overnight trip to Austin
• made our first trip to Rockwall to visit Granny, Grandmommy,
• and lots of Aunts and Uncles
• Smiled A LOT
• Started to laugh
• had our first play date and spent the night with Jennifer, Kevin, Graham and Laurel
• traveled to Elgin to cut down a Christmas Tree
• Got our first shots (with momma and daddy present at least)
• gone on numerous shopping trips to the mall
• watched Ross perform in his Christmas musical

Owen's First Christmas

Owen had a wonderful first Christmas! We traveled to Austin and Rockwall. Here is a quick video of the day. I am still looking for the camera from our trip. Pictures will be posted soon!
